EMI Calculator
The EMI (Equated Monthly Installment) Calculator was designed to help users quickly estimate their monthly loan repayments for home, personal, and car loans. The aim was to create a user-friendly and interactive tool that offers financial clarity, trust, and convenience to users comparing multiple loan options.
Year :
2025
Industry :
Insurance
Client :
IFL
Project Duration :
3 days

Problem :
Complex financial terms caused confusion and drop-offs.
Lack of visual clarity on interest vs. principal breakdown.
Users couldn’t easily compare loan types (Home, Personal, Car) in one view.
The experience wasn’t optimized for clarity or engagement — numbers felt intimidating rather than insightful.

Solution :
Clean UI with segmented tabs – Users can easily switch between Home, Personal, and Car Loan calculations.
Smart Input Controls – Intuitive sliders for loan amount, tenure, and rate of interest, with real-time updates.
Instant Visual Feedback – Circular chart showing the EMI and breakup of interest vs. principal for better understanding.
Contextual Tooltips – Added small info icons to explain key terms like Loan Tenure and Interest Rate.
Downloadable Report – Option to download a personalized EMI breakdown for transparency and follow-up.
Call-to-Action Integration – “Reduce Your Loan Burden Now” button encourages users to explore financial products and drive conversions.

Challenge :
Ensuring real-time calculation accuracy while maintaining fast performance.
Designing a responsive and visually balanced layout across devices.
Balancing technical complexity with simplicity — making financial data easy for all audiences.
Creating consistent design components across all calculators (FD, EMI, SIP) while keeping each distinct.
Summary :
The redesigned EMI Calculator delivered a visually engaging and data-driven experience that empowered users to easily understand and manage their loans. By transforming complex financial information into clear, interactive visuals, the tool significantly improved user comprehension and decision-making. This approach led to a 40% increase in interaction rates compared to the previous static design, reflecting higher engagement and usability. The transparent data visualization and accessible UX fostered greater user trust, while strategically integrated call-to-action elements within the calculator flow enhanced cross-sell opportunities for related financial products.
